"For as far back as I can remember, the line between fantasy and reality has been hopelessly blurred" Roman Polanski

My Favourite Directors

March 4, 2006

I have many favourite Directors, i can really single one out as the best, each has their own style i like.

For instance, i really like Stanley Kubrick, mainly because the way he used the camera and lens

I also like Tarantino because he is a fantastic writer.

but my three big favourites are guys who made their names in the 70’s. I dont really watch their films outside of that era because they are all grumpy old men these days who have sadly lost their touch.

My biggest favourite is

FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA

FFC

mainly because he is such a ruthless film maker, and on top of that he was a real proponent of inpdendant cinema, and there are several other reasons, The Godfather i & ii, The Conversation and Apocalypse Now are just 3 of them

Second Favourite

PETER BOGDANOVICH
Bogdanovich

He made 3 fantastic movies and then fell from grace, but two of his movies are on my all time favourite list, Paper Moon and The Last Picture Show. I like them because they are so superbly shot, acted, composed and Directed.

William Friedkin
Billy Friedkin

I like this guy because he was a renegade. He was very talented but a little too wild for anyone to contain, i mean, who else could have made The Exorcist? Another film i love (which is also on my Favourite Films list) is The French Connection

Check them out if you want to see some good filmz. Better than the shit at the cinemas these days, Gay Cowboys anyone?
