BitTorrent: my analysis

I was reading here that Bittorrent are in a bit of hot water with the US Film Industry.

A while ago i started and chronicled my journey with Bittorrent. In the end my conclusion was that is wasnt that impressive. However the summer changed all that. I realise now where Bittorrent excells. It downloads HUGE files very quickly compared to other P2P networks. This quote is from the afore mentioned link

BitTorrent has become a widely used online system to get hold of very large video files as the technology is very efficient at splitting up and sharing data.

That is what i have personally found. I recentl downloaded all of Roman Polanski’s student films, which are otherwise impossible to get a hold of, they are also copyright free. It took about 3 days but the files are almost a gig each. The way it works is that instead of downloading a file straight forom start to finish from one user, you download a whole lot of little blocks from many different peers (called seeds) your Bittorrent server (such as Azureus) puts it all together.

So my tip is, use Limewire to download music (copyright free of course) and Bittorrent to download movies (Copyright free of course), Oh and download full albums with Bittorrent (copyright free of course)
