"For as far back as I can remember, the line between fantasy and reality has been hopelessly blurred" Roman Polanski

Rosemary’s Baby

May 9, 2006

Well the eagle eye few of you would notice that Rosemary’s Baby has been crossed off my Polanski list.

I watched it alone last night, ensuring that no one would be here to interupt my viewing pleasure.

Polanski has an incredible way of lulling people into a sense of security, boredom even, and the Whack, he hits them with something stunning, either visually or psycologically. In Rosemary’s baby, he creates an incredible montage of images and creates a nightmare sequence that is compelling and strange.

I read alot about what people were doing in the 70’s breaking rules and all that. We i after watching all these Polanski films, i am convinced that he was doing it a long time before the Americans noticed. This is a 1968 film and it has nudity and other assorted pleasures involved, way before his luminaries attempted anything like this.
