"For as far back as I can remember, the line between fantasy and reality has been hopelessly blurred" Roman Polanski

The best damn actor in the world

May 14, 2006

I gotta admit, I do have a lot of favourite actors, Jack Nicholson for one, or Jeff Bridges, or a young Al Pacino.

But the actor whom I consider to be the current cream of the crop is Mr Vincent D’Onofrio.

He is most famous for his Law and Order exploits, but every role he is in, he is outstanding. I have seen him in many films, including horrible ones (like Strange Days) but he is outstanding in others. Who could forget Gomer Pyle in the second best ever Vietnam War flick Full Metal Jacket?

My claims are based on a film I finally saw the other day, Ed Wood, where Vincent put in an incredible performance as Orson Welles, and did him justice, not an easy task to do.

I have also learn that Mr D’Onofrio has just finished shooting his first ever short film, where he stars as a young Orson Welles, the film is called “Five Minutes, Mr. Welles.” I would love to see him play Welles again.
